Football Recap: Holmes Comes Up Short

After soaring to 34 points the game before, Holmes was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were outmatched by the Northeastern Eagles and fell 48-7. The Aces have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Zak Ishman was nothing short of spectacular for Northeastern: he threw for 348 yards and six TDs. The dominant performance also gave Ishman a new career-high in rushing yards (27). Northeastern's leading receiver Uzziah Harney was Ishman's top target yet again, picking up 138 receiving yards and three scores.

Holmes' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Northeastern, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Holmes has already played their next match, a 56-46 defeat against Currituck County on the 12th. As for Northeastern, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 41-32 win against Wilson Prep on the 12th.
