Baseball Recap: Penasco Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Penasco kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 18-8 to Pecos. Penasco hasn't had much luck with Pecos recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Penasco got a big performance out of Xavier Noll, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Noll a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lyrik Montoya, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

The victory got Pecos back to even at 1-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pecos beat Penasco by a score of 16-4 later that day.
