Phillips posted their closest victory since October 18, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Shell Lake Lakers 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Loggers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Phillips got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 17-25, 15-13.
Annaka Tobias paced Phillips' offense, picking up five kills. Tobias got some help from Layla Staroba and her ten assists.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-9. As for Shell Lake, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.
