Baseball Recap: Canyon Springs Takes a Loss

After flying high against Perris last Thursday, Canyon Springs came back down to earth. The Cougars lost 11-0 to the Hillcrest Trojans on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in March.

Canyon Springs saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dane Karlson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Canyon Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Hillcrest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5-1.

Looking ahead, Canyon Springs will take on Vista del Lago at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Ravens at the right time seeing as the Ravens are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Hillcrest, they will square off against Rancho Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
