Softball Recap: Evergreen Valley Comes Up Short

Evergreen Valley played against Independence on Thursday and lost via forfeit.

Mackenzie Brongiel put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Brongiel was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Brihanna Tabique was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Evergreen Valley dropped their record down to 2-12 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Independence, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Evergreen Valley has already played their next matchup, a 17-2 victory against Del Mar on the 28th. As for Independence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 0-0 defeat against Prospect on the 28th.
