Softball Recap: Indian Springs Takes a Loss

Indian Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rubidoux Falcons. One positive for the COYOTES, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Jizelle Castellanos put in work no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off two hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Castellanos wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alissa Yniguez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Jaslene Hernandez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Indian Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Rubidoux, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Indian Springs will head out to square off against Norte Vista at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rubidoux, they have already played their next match, a 19-11 win against Avalon on the 1st.
