It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Crater ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ashland Grizzlies, sneaking past 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won four in a row.

Crater's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ashland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Crater will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Grizzlies: the pair will be back at it again later today.
