Baseball Game Preview: Delta Charter Dragons vs. Venture Academy Mustangs

Delta Charter hasn't had much luck against Venture Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Delta Charter Dragons will welcome the Venture Academy Mustangs at 3:30 p.m.

Delta Charter is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 11, 2024 last Thursday. They came up short against Venture Academy, falling 12-2. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Venture Academy's part, Isaac Stewart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave Stewart a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Omarion Walker, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Miguelangel Ortega, who scored a run and stole Two bases.

The win was the fifth in a row for Venture Academy, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.6 runs. As for Delta Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
