Basketball Game Preview: South Umpqua Lancers vs. Douglas Trojans

South Umpqua is 2-7 against Douglas since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Umpqua Lancers will look to defend their home court against the Douglas Trojans at 7:00 p.m. South Umpqua will be strutting in after a victory while Douglas will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, South Umpqua turned things around against Siuslaw on Tuesday. They walked away with a 36-27 win over the Vikings.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 48-11, which was the final score in Douglas' tilt against Sutherlin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 62nd).

South Umpqua's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-11. As for Douglas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-16.
