Soccer Game Preview: Anderson County vs. Clinton

Anderson County is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Thursday. They will look to defend their home pitch against the Clinton Dragons at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Anderson County put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. They blew past Rockwood 5-1. Anderson County haven't had any issues with Rockwood recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Clinton was able to grind out a solid win over Cumberland Gap on Friday, taking the game 4-2. That's two games straight that Clinton have won by exactly two goals.

The victory got Clinton back to even at 2-2. As for Anderson County, their win bumped their record up to 2-4-1.

Anderson County skirted past Clinton 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Mavericks repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
