Baseball Recap: North Hardin Comes Up Short

Larue County hit North Hardin with a four-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Hawks, falling 12-4. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly eight runs.

North Hardin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Trujillo, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Trujillo is becoming a predictor of the Trojans' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 6-10 when he doesn't). Another was Kaleb Eisenman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for North Hardin and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Larue County, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-2-1.

Coming up, North Hardin is taking a road trip to face off against Holy Cross at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Larue County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Campbellsville at 5:30 p.m.
