On Friday, everything came up roses for the Lyndon Tigers at home against the Flinthills Mustangs as the team secured a 58-8 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 50 points or more this season.
James Marcotte was his usual excellent self, rushing for 174 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also picking up 76 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those 174 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Elijah Feltner also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lyndon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flinthills only rushed for 77.
Lyndon now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Flinthills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Lyndon will take on Madison/Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lyndon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Madison/Hamilton likes a good challenge. As for Flinthills, they will square off against Chase County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
