Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis Episcopal Wolves vs. Geneva Eagles

The St. Francis Episcopal Wolves will square off against the Geneva Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Francis Episcopal is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 68-45 margin over Holy Cross. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Knights are ranked 572nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Francis Episcopal's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Hodge, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. Hodge has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. O'Marion Harvey was another key player, en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

Hill Country Christian School of Austin typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Geneva proved too difficult a challenge. Everything went their way against the Knights as they made off with a 71-47 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

St. Francis Episcopal is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.4 points. Geneva's victory bumped their record up to 31-5.
