Softball Recap: West Finds Home Field Redemption Against Seymour

There's no place like home for West, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Seymour Eagles on Thursday. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Brooke Weaver made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 5.2 innings pitched. Weaver was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Burnett was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Ava Humphreys was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

West's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Seymour, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West will head out to square off against Christian Academy of Knoxville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Seymour, they will face off against Bearden at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
