Basketball Recap: Chase Strickland Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Dorchester Academy

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Calhoun Academy on Tuesday. They walked away with a 46-36 victory over the Dorchester Academy Raiders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 71-51 back in December of 2024.

Calhoun Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chase Strickland led the charge by going 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. Strickland's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Nick Lindsay was another key player, putting up 11 points and six steals.

Calhoun Academy pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Dorchester Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Calhoun Academy will square off against Greenwood Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dorchester Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cathedral Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
