Grain Valley is 8-1 against Raytown since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagles will challenge the Bluejays at 4:00 p.m.

On Monday, Grain Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Truman and fell 4-3. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Raytown came into Monday's contest having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Ruskin by a score of 9-6 on Monday.

William Buckman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on DeWane Williams, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. AJ Washington was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Raytown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.

Raytown's record now sits at 3-12. As for Grain Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 15-11-1.

Grain Valley took their victory against Raytown in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
