Soccer Game Preview: Livingston Academy vs. Cumberland County

Livingston Academy hasn't had much luck against Cumberland County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Jets at 5:00 p.m. Cumberland County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Livingston Academy, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Livingston Academy faced off against DeKalb County on Monday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Tigers. The game was the first time Livingston Academy have beaten DeKalb County on their pitch since April 13, 2021.

Meanwhile, Cumberland County unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Cookeville. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Cumberland County haven't been shut out since back in March.

Livingston Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four contests. As for Cumberland County, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3-2.

Livingston Academy couldn't quite get it done against Cumberland County when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
