Basketball Game Preview: Highland Park Scots vs. Andover Central Jaguars

The Highland Park Scots will challenge the Andover Central Jaguars at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highland Park is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Highland Park is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 victory over Basehor-Linwood. Given the Scots' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Bobcats are ranked 56th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Andover Central took on Eisenhower on Saturday. Andover Central walked away with a 61-49 win over Eisenhower. The victory was familiar territory for the Jaguars, who have now won five games in a row.

Highland Park better keep an eye on Jayden Brown. He was instrumental in Andover Central's win, shooting 57% from the field to rack up 22 points and five assists. The last time Brown's shooting accuracy was this high was back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Adler, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 13 points.

Highland Park's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points over those games. As for Andover Central, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
