Baseball Recap: Deckerville Takes a Loss

Deckerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-7 to the Kingston Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Thursday.

Brayden Russell made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Evan Benjey was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Deckerville's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Kingston, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Deckerville will square off against Carsonville-Port Sanilac at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Kingston, they will host Au Gres-Sims at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
