Basketball Recap: Colcord Comes Up Short

If Colcord was riding high fresh off their 55-24 takedown of Quapaw last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Colcord Hornets lost 64-42 to the Fairland Owls on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Owls are ranked 64th).

Colcord dropped their record down to 6-11 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Fairland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-2.

Colcord has already played their next contest (against Wyandotte), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fairland will host Dale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dale knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Fairland likes a good challenge.
