Football Game Preview: Manti Templars vs. Canyon View Falcons

Manti and Canyon View are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Templars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Canyon View will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Manti extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Templars put the hurt on Carbon with a sharp 42-21 win. The result was nothing new for the Templars, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Manti's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tala Taulapapa, who rushed for 85 yards and two scores on only six carries. Taulapapa is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Carter Mason was another key signal caller, throwing for 153 yards and three TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing.

Manti didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bodee Jones and Griffin Cox.

Canyon View hadn't beaten Richfield on the road since October 15, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Falcons enjoyed a cozy 31-14 victory over the Wildcats.

Manti's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Canyon View, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything came up roses for Manti against Canyon View in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 34-7 victory. In that matchup, the Templars amassed a halftime lead of 34-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
