Football Game Preview: Baldwin Panthers vs. Onekama Portagers

Baldwin is 1-6 against Onekama since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Panthers will host the Portagers at 6:30 p.m. Baldwin has given up an average of 52.3 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Baldwin is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Marion on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Panthers took a blow against the Eagles, falling 58-6. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.

Meanwhile, Onekama put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Suttons Bay to the tune of 56-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Portagers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Norsemen are ranked 89th).

Baldwin's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Onekama, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Baldwin was taken down by Onekama 58-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
