Cliffton Hatley turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than three walks surrendered on Thursday. He produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Hatley and Gray Stone Day will square off against South Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hatley had to take a defeat the last time the two teams duked it out, losing their contest last Tuesday 8-0.
