Baseball Recap: Cottonwood Comes Up Short

Cottonwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-4 to the Park City Miners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Miners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 last Tuesday.

Diego Martinez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Joaquin Reymus, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Cottonwood's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Park City, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

While Cottonwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
