Softball Recap: Zephyrhills Takes a Loss

Zephyrhills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-1 to the River Ridge Royal Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 7-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Zephyrhills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hope Tackett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Zephyrhills' loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for River Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Coming up, Zephyrhills will be playing at home against Weeki Wachee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for River Ridge, they will venture away from home to face off against Wesley Chapel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royal Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
