Recap: Eagle Mustangs vs. Middleton Vikings
On Saturday, the Eagle Mustangs faced the Middleton Vikings in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eagle's tough 57-37 loss to Middleton might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Eagle has suffered since December 8, 2023.
Eagle's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mary (molly) johnson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals, and Berkley Jones who scored 12 points.
Middleton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zoey Blackwell, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Blackwell hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Laci Eagy, who scored six points along with two steals.
Eagle's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Middleton, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
Eagle will head out on the road to face off against Kuna at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Middleton, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Capital at 7:30 p.m. Capital is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
