Baseball Game Preview: Brackenridge Eagles vs. Southwest Dragons

Brackenridge is 0-5 against Southwest since February of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles will welcome the Dragons at 6:00 p.m.

Brackenridge fell victim to Burbank and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ethan Polendo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits.

Meanwhile, Southwest had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 4-1.

Southwest's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Brackenridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.
