Newton North has gone 9-1 against Brookline recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Tigers will host the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Newton North is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Natick by a score of 11-10 on Friday. Even though they lost, the Tigers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.8 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Leo DiMattia and Luke Svartstrom did some serious damage despite the final result: DiMattia got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Svartstrom went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those doubles were DiMattia's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Chao, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Wellesley hit Brookline with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors came up short against the Raiders, falling 11-4.

Wally Lawrence made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Harris Hodgson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Newton North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Brookline, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Brookline's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Newton North has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. It's a different story for Brookline, though, as they've only averaged .342. Will they be able to contain Newton North's hitters?

Newton North skirted past Brookline 3-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
