Meanwhile, Buna came up short against Shepherd on Saturday and fell 55-48. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 957th, while the Pirates are ranked 380th).

Laneville's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Buna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
