Baseball Recap: South Aiken Comes Up Short

South Aiken was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the War Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 last Monday.

South Aiken's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Aiken will welcome Non Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, they will challenge Brookland-Cayce at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Gray Collegiate Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Brookland-Cayce has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
