Recap: Stamford Black Knights vs. Darien Blue Wave
The Stamford Black Knights waltzed into their match on Wednesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They secured a 63-59 W over Darien. 63 seems to be a good number for Stamford as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Stamford got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ejai Presley out in front who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Presley hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Damar Taylor, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Stamford's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Darien, they bumped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Stamford will be playing in front of their home fans against Staples at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Staples is ranked 14th, while Stamford is ranked 13th). As for Darien, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Joseph focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday.
