Softball Game Preview: Two Rivers Warriors vs. Hill-Murray Pioneers

The Two Rivers Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Hill-Murray Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Two Rivers has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Two Rivers is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Simley with a sharp 22-12 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Addison Estall, who fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryn Christopherson, who went 3-for-5 with four runs and three RBI.

Two Rivers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .475. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Hill-Murray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Mahtomedi.

Emily Rebel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jayda Mackey, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Hill-Murray's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Two Rivers, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Hill-Murray's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Two Rivers has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. It's a different story for Hill-Murray, though, as they've only averaged .342. Will they be able to contain Two Rivers' hitters?

Two Rivers couldn't quite finish off Hill-Murray in their previous matchup back in April and fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
