Basketball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chardon Hilltoppers. The Rangers were not able to make up for their loss to the Hilltoppers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, North still got an impressive performance from Alex Hamilton, who posted 14 points and seven boards. Those 14 points gave Hamilton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Ferrari, who put up six points and seven rebounds.

Chardon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Deszczykiewicz, who had nine points. Abby Zeiger also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Chardon, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

North has already played their next game, a 41-28 win against Riverside on the 11th. As for Chardon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-37 loss against Mayfield on the 11th.
