Football Recap: Stanfield Takes a Loss

Stanfield extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost 40-14 to the Riverside Pirates. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Riverside, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Osmin Barrera produced another solid performance rushing for 280 yards and three scores while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 51 yards.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stanfield is set to face off against their familiar foe Weston-McEwen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Riverside will challenge rival Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
