Basketball Recap: Montevallo Comes Up Short

Montevallo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss. They were beaten by the Spain Park Jaguars 65-13. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-14 back in November of 2024.

Brooke Bentley had an outrageously good game for Spain Park as she went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Bentley a new career-high. Trinity Daniels was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Montevallo's record now sits at 1-20. As for Spain Park, they moved to 11-14 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Montevallo has already played their next contest (against Jemison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Spain Park and Center Point will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Spain Park is facing Center Point at the right time seeing as Center Point is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
