Baseball Recap: Jesuit Victorious

Jesuit lost to Davis Sr. last Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Marauders walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Blue Devils.

Eric Erdmann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jesuit's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Parker Lipp, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave Lipp a new career-high. Petey Palko also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Davis Sr., their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jesuit will face off against Rocklin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Thunder will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Marauders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Davis Sr., they will square off against Del Oro at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
