Baseball Recap: L.E.A.D. Academy Has No Trouble Against Gulf Pointe Latin

L.E.A.D. Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators with a sharp 15-1 victory. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Gladiators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Logan Badejo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Badejo was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Silas Brown was a standout: he scored four runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tristan Randolph, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

L.E.A.D. Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

L.E.A.D. Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, L.E.A.D. Academy will venture away from home to face off against Laurel Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they will host East Hill Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Gladiators will no doubt try to take advantage of.
