Basketball Game Preview: Payson Longhorns vs. Apache Junction Prospectors + Official Tickets

The Payson Longhorns will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Apache Junction Prospectors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Payson is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight games dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-42 heartbreaker at the hands of Thatcher. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Longhorns have suffered since November 29, 2024.

Meanwhile, Apache Junction took a blow against Valley Christian on Tuesday, falling 106-15. The Prospectors haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Payson's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Apache Junction, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
