MaxPreps Top 50 high school football scores: No. 1 IMG Academy wins big on ESPNU in season finale

No. 1 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) cruised to a one-sided 41-6 win over TRU Prep Academy (Miami Gardens, Fla.) to cap off its perfect season. The Ascenders finish the year 8-0 and outscored the opposition 381-82. Kaytron Allen showed why he is one of the top running backs in the Class of 2022 rushing for 245 yards and five touchdowns.

In the only Top 25 matchup of the week No. 5 Chandler (Ariz.) won its 33rd consecutive game with a 34-14 win over No. 23 Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.). UCF-bound quarterback Mikey Keene improved to 20-0 as the starter for the Wolves and threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns. The four-time defending state champs will be the No. 1 seed in the Open Division playoffs that are scheduled to begin on Nov. 27.

No. 17 Archbishop Hoban (Akron) won its fifth state title in six years with a dominant 35-6 win over No. 29 Washington (Massillon) in the Ohio Division II championship. The Knights finish the year 11-0 and starting quarterback Shane Hamm accounted for all five touchdowns in the victory.

No. 6 Thompson (Alabaster) had no problem with Hoover as they beat the Bucs 52-14 in the semifinals. The defending Alabama 7A state champs will face Auburn in the championship on Dec. 2. 

No. 8 Corner Canyon (Draper) won its third consecutive state title after beating No. 39 Lone Peak (Highland) 45-7 in the Utah 6A championship. Jaxson Dart finished the afternoon with five total touchdowns giving him 79 (67 passing, 12 rushing) on the year.

No. 35 American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) put an end to No. 15 Northwestern's (Miami) state title streak after beating the Bulls 12-3 in the third round of the Florida 5A playoffs. James Williams and the Patriots will face Rockledge with a spot in the quarterfinals up for grabs on Nov. 27.
