Football Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial fell victim to El Segundo and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Apaches of the 59-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Ryan Wiacek had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 199 yards and three TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punching in one touchdown on the ground for El Segundo. Lincoln Quaintance helped Wiacek out on the ground, picking up 43 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 43 yards.

Centennial has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for El Segundo, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Centennial will head out to face off against West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for El Segundo, they will venture away from home to challenge El Rancho at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
