Baseball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Countryside's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Countryside hadn't done well against Northeast recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cougars came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 8-4. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Vikings back in February, they had to take a 5-2 loss.

Chase Hilldreth and Brody Sadlowski did most of the damage at the plate: Hilldreth went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Sadlowski went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Sadlowski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trent King, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Countryside is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Northeast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Countryside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northeast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warren East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
