Basketball Recap: Jonathan Dowd's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Timberlake Christian over Temple Christian

Timberlake Christian's game on Monday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 46-39 to the Temple Christian Crusaders. The Tornadoes' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Timberlake Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jonathan Dowd, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Dowd is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Sawyer Epps was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Timberlake Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2. As for Temple Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Timberlake Christian will be playing at home against Southwest Virginia Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 17th. As for Temple Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Regents at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Regents will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Temple Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
