Football Game Preview: Southeast Spartans vs. Newcastle Racers

The Southeast Spartans will square off against the Newcastle Racers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Southeast is headed into Thursday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were dealt a 45-6 defeat at the hands of MacArthur on Thursday. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Newcastle came up short against Bishop McGuinness on Friday and fell 24-14.

Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Newcastle, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Southeast took a serious blow against Newcastle in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 41-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Racers' Taylor 'TJ' Bradford, who rushed for 187 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries.
