Baseball Game Preview: Abbott Panthers vs. Oglesby Tigers

The Abbott Panthers will face off against the Oglesby Tigers on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Abbott is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Milford with a sharp 15-8 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Meanwhile, Oglesby came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 13-0 win.

Camden Webb was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakson Tippit, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Oglesby's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Abbott, their win bumped their record up to 14-9-1.

Abbott suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Oglesby in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
