Baseball Preview: Jimtown Jimmies vs. Concord Minutemen

The Jimtown Jimmies will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Concord Minutemen at 7:30 p.m. Jimtown will be hoping to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

In what's become a running theme this season, Jimtown gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They blew past South Bend Washington 14-1. Jimtown's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Aiden Carithers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Carithers was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Connor Christman was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Ashton Blasko was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Concord didn't have quite enough to beat Wawasee on Wednesday and fell 3-1. Concord has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Concord also got a good showing from Joey Hauger, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hauger has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Concord saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braedon Messenger, who went 1-for-3 with a stolen base.
