Basketball Recap: Washington Jaguars vs. Bennett Clippers
Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bennett Clippers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Clippers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-61 back in December of 2024.
It was another big night for Zakai Smullen, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds for Bennett. Smullen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Benjamin Singletary was another key player, putting up eight points.
Washington's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Bennett, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Washington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-51 defeat against Wicomico on the 31st. As for Bennett, they have also already played their next contest, a 45-39 victory against Parkside on the 1st.
