Softball Recap: Cedar Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cedar can now relate to. They fell just short of the Dixie Flyers by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The Reds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Flyers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Kinzie Hawkins made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Cedar's loss dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Dixie, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.

While Cedar had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
