Hannibal took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Kirksville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Tigers on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Cooper Scott was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Reid Holliday was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Hannibal's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Kirksville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Hannibal will welcome Holt at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kirksville, they will challenge Fulton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
