Softball Recap: Red Oak Comes Up Short

After flying high against Terrell last Saturday, Red Oak came back down to earth. The Hawks came up short against the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars on Tuesday, falling 16-5. The Hawks have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Red Oak's loss dropped their record down to 12-7-1. As for Midlothian Heritage, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-7.

Red Oak and Midlothian Heritage should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Hawks (ranked 203rd) will meet Kaufman (ranked 573rd) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Midlothian Heritage will challenge Corsicana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (98 vs. 673). The timing is sure in the Jaguars' favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while the Tigers have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
