Baseball Recap: South East Find Success

South East won the last time they faced Roosevelt and things went their way on Thursday too. The Jaguars walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Rough Riders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

Jonathan Castro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Delonte Jones was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for South East: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-14 otherwise. Nathan Munoz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

South East's record is now 10-15. As for Roosevelt, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South East will square off against Esperanza at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Roosevelt, they will face off against Carson at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
